Action Alert

URGENT – Pennsylvania’s Industry Partnership (IP) program—a national-model workforce training approach with bipartisan origins and strong business support—is in danger of once again getting caught up in the partisan rancor around the state's annual budget process. We need your help to encourage Pennsylvania legislators to give Industry Partnerships the strong bipartisan support they deserve by passing HB2230.

HB 2230 would provide legislative backing for Industry Partnerships and help to guarantee the continuation of IPs. HB 2230 passed the Pennsylvania House unanimously in mid-March thanks to ringing endorsements from business leaders in hearings February 24. Now, almost two months after the legislation passed the House, HB2230 still has not been considered by the Senate's Labor & Industry Committee.

HB 2230 should be voted on by the full Senate, thereby showing the legislature’s ability to quickly enact common-sense bipartisan legislation that strengthens Pennsylvania businesses and expands opportunity for workers.

Your help is needed to contact not only the Labor Committee members, but EVERY member of the Senate.  Emphatically state your support for IPs, urge Senator Gordner to put HB 2230 before the committee, and request a unanimous AFFIRMATIVE vote by the full Senate.

Without immediate action, the clock could wind down and HB 2230 may not be passed before the Legislature recesses the current session.

Information about the legislation, including talking points, a sample letter to your legislator and contact information for the senators can be obtained at www.workforcepa.com.

Members of the Senate Labor  & Industry Committee:

Thank you for your continued support!
